Videoconferencing is a real-time two-way exchange of information between two or more geographically disperse locations using audio, video and sometimes data. It’s happening almost every day here at The Ohio State University. Some classes are shared between main campus and the branch campuses; some are shared across the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) universities; others are shared a world away to discuss the contested borders of Jerusalem between Israelis and Palestinians.
The Digital Union has a state-of-the-art videoconferencing suite where your small class can meet with a remote guest lecturer, or a thesis defender can bring in a panel member who is out of state.
Interested in bringing videoconferencing to your classroom or department? Please stop by and chat with one of our knowledgeable staff. We would be happy to host your group here or point you in the right direction to get you up and running on your own.
