Meeting Space

Creating new spaces for education, collaboration, and presentation is an important part of designing the academic environments of the future. The Digital Union works to create configurable spaces with flexible furniture and technology configurations to investigate ways of creating effective learning environments.

Wireless Area

The Wireless Area Wireless Area of the Digital Union in "Theatre" configuration

The Digital Union's "Wireless Area" has been configured as a technology enhanced educational space hosting classes and workshop sessions, and has also been configured as an event space for hosting demonstrations, web seminars, and presentations.

The space can be equipped with wireless laptops, projectors, and whiteboard recorders, and also features a modular table which can be broken into segments and moved into different configurations.

Videoconferencing Room

The videoconferencing room allows you to use communication technologies to interact with colleagues worldwide. The space features a videoconferencing system, teleconferencing phone, and internet telephone.

This space has been used to host experimental courses in which students can interact with faculty and students at other universities and academic institutions. It has also been used to host the Emerging Technology Group's annual Megaconference and Megaconference Jr.

Vendor's Area

The "Vendor's Awareness Area" was created as a space for vendors to showcase new technologies and products to the OSU community. It has been used to host demos and showcases, and also as a space to present special broadcasts and web events.

Learning Collaboration Studio (LCS)

The Learning Collaboration Studio (or LCS) is a reconfigurable learning environment designed to be adaptable to your instructional needs.

Wheeled furniture and laptop computers in the LCS make it possible to experiment with room layouts for new styles of academic instruction. For more information about the LCS, visit the LCS website at:
