New opportunities for education are opening up in virtual worlds.
Consider online, 3-D worlds such as Linden Lab's Second Life, which enable users to both create and interact with content they create themselves through their own character called an "avatar".
Second Life is a current subject of research started during October 2006 by Nicholas Johnson, an OSU graduate student working with TELR and the Digital Union.
