The Center for Chemical and Biophysical Dynamics (CCBD) is a unique laser spectroscopy laboratory at The Ohio State University.  Using resources obtained from the National Science Foundation, the State of Ohio Board of Regents’ Action fund, and the State of Ohio Hayes Fund, several investigators within the Department of Chemistry were able to purchase a new million-dollar ultrafast (femtosecond 10–15s) laser system.  Installed in July 2004, this new equipment, in combination with existing instrumentation, will make it possible to perform dynamic studies of photochemical intermediates over a wide time and spectral range.
