Description: The stylets are removed from the guide canulae implanted in the nucleus accumbens and prefrontal cortex. A microdialysis probe is then inserted into the canula and used to take a sample of the environment in the medial prefrontal cortex. The sample is pumped into a plastic vial. Each sample is taken at fifteen minute intervals and preserved in the freezer.
