What is R2?
Research on Research, or “R2”, is a summer program created by TELR and the Digital Union that brings the faculty research experience into the undergraduate learning environment.
In the R2 program, faculty and full-time undergraduate students collaborate in teams on a research project.
Faculty participants interact with the students in both formal and informal settings, guiding the research experience.
Student participants, in addition to participating in the research, meet at the Digital Union to attend seminars to learn about the research process and to learn multimedia skills to document their research in a multimedia portfolio.
R2 introduces undergraduate students to research earlier in their academic careers so that they can make career and advanced study choices based on first-hand research experience, and provides faculty with an opportunity to share and describe their research processes, outcomes, and professional work life with students and others inside and outside the academic community.
