Rehabilitation Services
OSU Rehabilitation Services was originally located in the Department of Psychology in the 1960s and was closed due to lack of enrollment and the fact that graduates of the program did not typically go into rehabilitation careers. The program was revived in 1982 by Bruce Growick, Michael Klein and Joe Wheaton and housed in the College of Education. The program focuses on counseling and vocational rehabilitation. Over the past 25 years the program has produced 250 to 300 Master graduates and 40 to 50 Doctoral graduates. Most of its graduates with Master Degrees go to careers in rehabilitation services programs and many of the graduates with Doctoral degrees are now teaching in universities across the country. The program is in its last year due to lack of enrollment again and its last class of students receiving Master degrees will be graduating in 2007.
