Toni Greenslade-Smith
Toni Greenslade-Smith has worked with the University Housing Department for 25 years accommodating the needs of students with disabilities in campus residence halls. She, along with the others in the department, work with the counselors at the Office for Disability Services to determine the accommodations needed by each student. “The Housing Department’s role is a very individualized one,” says Greenslade-Smith. “We meet one-on-one with the students and tour them through the various modified rooms on campus to identify the one that would best meet their needs.” She says they often include maintenance on these tours to make sure that any extra modifications are done before the student arrives to campus.
