Lissner talks about his "carrot and stick approach" to access.
(2 minutes 12 seconds, captioned)
The American’s with Disabilities Act Coordinator’s Office was created as part of a negotiation by the students with disabilities group on campus during their protest to the contract between the Central Ohio Transit Authority and Ohio State. When the students realized that their needs for accessibility were not being met they gave this request to Ed Ray, the former Provost.
Scott Lissner, the current ADA Coordinator, was hired and came to the university in January of 2000. Since his arrival the office has grown to collaborate with many other offices and programs on campus.
