As a part of the President and Provost's 2005-2006 Diversity Lecture and Cultural Art Series, Dr. I. King Jordan, President of Gallaudet University, was invited to speak at Ohio State on January 26, 2006. Jordan's speech encompassed diversity in relation to disability and deafness. The attendance to this lecture was more than the organizers had expected and it filled the Conference Theatre in the Ohio Union as well as and overflow into a lounge on the third floor. Members of the audience included the campus' own faculty and students as well as the surrounding community.
