In January of 1999 Belinda Spinosi, a member of the student group for students with disabilities at the Ohio State University, led a student protest against the contract between the Central Ohio Transit Authority and the Ohio State University. This contract would allow students to travel on the busses for free; however, this contract did not guarantee to provide accessible transportation for students with disabilities. Out of the negotiations of this protest came the request for an ADA Coordinator (that position is now held by Scott Lissner).
