The Diffusion Decision Model

Professor Roger Ratcliff (Psychology)
Andrew Webb (Psychology)

In psychology, the diffusion model is a cognitive model of speedy decision processes. Using this model, we can identify active components of decision processes, as well as account for a range of data from reaction time experiments. In an effort to understand the effect of aging on decision processes, our research compares these processes in older human participants with their younger counterparts on a series of tasks. In addition, the digital description of the diffusion model will help gerontologists and other experts to incorporate it in their research.
