Testimonio: A Reclamation of Historical Space is the product of a partnership between Professor Ana del Sarto and Laura M. Herbert. Professor del Sarto is an Associate Professor at the Ohio State University in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. She is the co-editor of The Latin American Cultural Studies Reader and working on a book about the construction of women’s identities in literature written in the Southern Cone in response to military dictatorships and redemocratization. Herbert is an undergraduate student majoring in Spanish and History and hopes to pursue a career as a Spanish Literature professor. This site was funded by the Research on Research (R2) program. R2 is a summer experience that helps OSU undergraduates involved in research to document their work using non-traditional, technology-based formats. Participants are given a grant as well as technical support and training at Ohio State’s Digital Union.
If you are an undergraduate involved in OSU research or a faculty member working with an undergraduate on research and are interested in becoming involved in R2, please visit the R2 website.
Special thanks for the success of this project are owed to the Digital Union staff, particularly Vicky, Rob, Sapna, Joe and Natalie, for their generous technical and financial support, to Dr. Stephanie Wood of the University of Washington, Pat from Globe Trekker and Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo for their generous photographic contributions, to Cristina de la Torre for a fascinating interview and to Nora Strejilevich, for both her work and encouragement.
