In the field of visual communication design, motion graphics are the future. The means by which we obtain information are constantly evolving towards the use of richer media. The expectations on the user to be able to absorb multiple simultaneous streams of information and understand intuitively and certainly the contained meaning within are growing ever greater. Fully understanding the process by which supplemental meaning is added to the written message by the introduction of motion is key to successfully taking advantage of the opportunities that the advent of rich media technologies have offered. The following is a guide to the successful and effective use of motion type.
