Are RSS feeds and abbreviated headlines leaving Americans less informed about global issues? The Digital Union presents “The Future of the News,” a panel discussion with correspondents from the Washington Post and Los Angeles Times and the Director of the Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Journalism at OSU.

Andrea Saveri, a senior research director from the Institute for the Future will discuss the Map of Future Forces Affecting Education created in conjunction with KnowledgeWorks Foundation in Cincinnati. Saveri focuses on understanding how individuals, organizations and communities make sense of the diffusion of new technologies and media and create new social, cultural, civic, and economic institutions. She will present a detailed look at a collection of factors that will be in play in ten years and discuss ways these will change the nature of learning in higher education by 2016.
