OSU's Web Accessiblity Center (WAC) has arranged for IBM to demonstrate their ViaScribe Automated Captioning/Transcription System. ViaScribe is claimed to have an especially sophisticated voice recognition system capable of producing "on the fly" transcript generation with simple, enhanced features for using the transcript in audio and video content.
This technology could potentially be used for creating searchable, accessible audio and video content for education.
Please join us for this demonstration on Monday, June 19th, from 10:00 - 11:30am in room 90 of the Science and Engineering Library.
Please share this announcement widely and encourage your colleagues to attend!
