OSU Partners with NBC Learn to Bring More Than 10,000 Video Resources to Campus

Ashley Miller

The Office of the Chief Information Officer and University Libraries recently collaborated to bring the NBC Learn library to OSU faculty, staff and students. The vast majority of content available via NBC Learn consists of news coverage from NBC affiliates and network programs such as Meet the Press, Dateline NBC, the TODAY Show and more, as well as content from NBC-affiliated networks like CNBC, Telemundo and MSNBC.

The collection also includes original content produced by NBC Learn, which includes news and sports footage mixed with interviews and science and technology content. These award-winning short videos can be incorporated into learning activities that help illustrate topics and support classroom instruction. All content from NBC Learn streams from the web, and can be viewed using NBC’s Cue Card™ player, which offers captioning, full bibliographic information, full transcript, clickable keywords, personal annotation space, and a citation generator. Videos can also be downloaded for viewing later or embedded into presentations or other projects.

There are no restrictions on how these videos are used, whether in a presentation, class project, demonstration or other use, as long as users are located on any OSU campus, or off campus with sign-in. Users can also register for an NBC Learn account to make custom playlists, bookmark favorites or take notes.
