Question:
What happens to student data (like grades) in my Carmen course if a student is dropped? I’ve noticed that students who are dropped for non-payment are now being unenrolled, and I’m concerned about what will happen if they pay fees and are re-added.
Answer:
There really isn’t much of change in Carmen when a student is dropped. All the information about the dropped student is just hidden. It remains available to you as the instructor, though, if you know where to look. And if the student is re-added to the course, their data pops back into view.
Question:
How do I see grades and other information about students who were dropped?
Answer:
Go to Classlist and click on Report in the upper menu. Scroll down to the table headed “Withdrawals.” You will see a list of all people who have been dropped from your course.

Note that the Withdrawals table will tell you WHEN a student (or other participant) was removed, but it doesn’t tell you why, how, or by whom. You’ll have to call on other resources to find that out, if you need to know it.
In the Withdrawal table, find the User Progress icon for the student in question. The icon is a grey / blue circle made of smaller circles.

Within User Progress for that student, select the Grades tool. You will be able to see all the available grade data for that student.

Question:
Thanks. While I’ve got you here, is that User Progress page available for students who are still enrolled?
Answer:
Sure! User Progress is available for everyone enrolled in your course. You can get to User Progress for currently enrolled people from the Classlist (look for the same icon next to the user’s name) or from the Edit Course area.
