Today we saw what the back end, and front end for that matter, of Adobe Connect will look like for our instructors, contributors, and students. It is really exciting.
I’m currently more involved with the front end for our Animal Sciences 694 class, and haven’t had to help facilitate for the back end. So it was nice going into the meeting today with a general overview and understanding of the software and its functionality. I see limitless possibilities for student engagement, and I’m sure Jeanne does too, but she says her head is spinning. That’s OK though! I’m envisioning that she’ll be using anywhere between three to five of the pods within Connect for student engagement and content advancement.
Like all things, her strong adaptability coupled with a bit of routine will make everything feel natural for her when we get in the real live swing of things. Plus, there’s a whole team of “lead facilitators” everywhere you look on this project, all with the intent of making this course successful and smooth running.
It is hard to believe it is already April and we’re creeping eerily closer towards semesters. The downtime between summer and school this year will go very quickly, and we’ll be continually pushing an aggressive timeline. Isn’t there some saying about “prior proper planning makes for etc. etc. etc.”? If so, it would definitely apply here. We’re meeting early and often to iron out any potential questions and concerns about the course. It’s been a great overall experience for me personally so far, and we haven’t even had one class yet! I’m excited for the months ahead.
