Innovate 2012 Doubles in Size

Liv Gjestvang

With Innovate 2012 just a few days away, we are getting very excited to host an even bigger, better conference this year — and as we gear up for the event, this seemed like a good time to share some stats from this year’s program.

The theme of Innovate 2012, transformation, highlights the ways that technology can promote dramatic changes in the ability to engage students in the classroom and impact research and field study opportunities across the globe. We are committed to supporting the innovative use of technology in teaching and learning at Ohio State and beyond, and we aim to help create lasting connections among the faculty, students and staff committed to this work.

Thanks to all of you who have submitted presentations, evaluated them, designed and developed projects to share, signed up to attend, invited a friend, tweeted about your enthusiasm, and more. 2012 Innovate features:

  • 30 presentations
  • 70 presenters
  • 450 registrants, almost double last year’s count of 250
  • 50 institutions and organizations
  • 6 states

We look forward to learning more about the work that you do. And hope that this event will help create even more connections, inspirations and transformations as we move forward!

For more information about Innovate 2012, please visit elearning.osu.edu. Or follow @InnovateOSU on Twitter. We are at capacity for this year’s event, but will be moving to a larger venue next year on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Hope to see you there!

Special thanks to our Innovate Gold sponsors without whom this event would not be possible:
Loth, Inc./Steelcase, lynda.com, and WOW! Internet-Cable-Phone.
